The intent of our lives...

"The purpose of life is not to be happy - but to matter, to be productive, to be useful, to have it make some difference that you have lived at all." -Leo Rosten

This quote doesn't mean that the intention of our lives is to be sad either. All it portrays is the difference between directing our actions to our happiness and procuring happiness automatically as a result of our karma, the reason for our existence.

  1. Is it always true that there is a reason for our existence?
Is it always true that we have to work towards a particular goal?to achieve a target?

Dont we say that things fall into place by themselves and we just need to change our perspective?
Is it about changing our perspectivve or do we strive to change the world's perspective of theings by making them look at things the way,we want them to....
    Why ??
Shouldnt we just flow alongside doing stuff we like learn and love?aint the right way of living is to live and enjoy the work as passtime,,,or is it work and enjoy life when u have some time to pass...!

Yes, there is a reason to exist for each one of us. (Bhagwan ji upar velle nahin baithe hue.. ki jab mann mein aaye.. kisi ko neeche phenk do :P)

Is it always true that we have to work towards a particular goal?to achieve a target? Obv Not, There is no relation between a reason for our existence and 'striving to achieve something'. And then does achieving something necessarily mean being ambitious? Can it not imply that one just feels contented learning or really loves his work. Why do we always end up phrasing it as 'achieving a target'!

You are right, things do automatically fall in place themselves, but isn't each of those things a result of our own actions. We change our perspective to learn from them and we really have no right to make others comprehend things with our crooked definitions of righteousness.

".. I sometimes feel that the meme of work and enjoyment being orthogonal is quite deeply ingrained within us. Isn't it?
